Sweetheart Table

There is nothing like finding a pair of table legs for $5 on the good old craigslist and making your fiancé drive you a half an hour away to pick them up. Now to him, this is yet another salvaged piece I have managed to find a place for in the garage despite the other heaping piles of 'junk'. Nevertheless, he drives me and helps me load them into the bed of the truck.

True love? I think so.

Here we are months later (I am not even certain what month we got them) and after watching them sit and collect dust, I take them out and state that I would like these two very broken but beautiful legs to turn into a sweetheart table. My evolution of these pieces are more like Cinderella's pumpkin carriage. Magical.

I'm not sure we share the same image of the evolution process.

I tell him my vision and he gets to work, more than likely having to remind himself that he does indeed love me. This evolution could not happen without the craftiness of my handsome fella. I know how I want it to look when its done but I am not as savvy when it comes to the middle process. The things that this man can create with his two capable hands are astonishing.

Despite the long nights and messy work space, we've learned one thing through this venture: We make a good team.

We have been incredibly busy with our first wedding coming up this weekend. This sweetheart table will be utilized by the bride and her groom during the reception portion of their day. We also made them an arbor, a picture wall, and a bar! among other minor things. But I'll save those for a later blog :)

I cannot wait to share with you all the after pictures of our first wedding!
